Centenary Recruitment Plan

As the University approaches its 100th anniversary, a major human resource expansion plan has been launched to provide 200 new academic positions. The purpose of this Centenary Recruitment Plan is to enhance our research competitiveness and to facilitate the introduction and delivery of a new four-year undergraduate curriculum from 2012.

Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship

Applications are invited for appointment as Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship in the School of Business, from January 1, 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter. The posts will initially be made on a three-year fixed term, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and research. The appointee should also be able to teach entrepreneurship subjects, at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He/She is expected to commit to high-quality scholarly research. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical/dental benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 16% of gross income.

For post (1) : applicants should have a Ph.D. degree with a distinguished record in research and publications, and demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality graduate and undergraduate teaching. The appointee must have established a good reputation among, and maintained an excellent relationship with, international colleagues of the field. He/She should provide academic leadership in both research and teaching.
For post (2) :applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Finance or other related areas. All fields of finance will be considered, but preference will be given to those in the fields of investments, derivatives, corporate finance, and risk management. The appointee should be able to teach doctoral, M.B.A. and B.B.A. degree programs, and is expected to commit to high-quality scholarly research, teaching and services. Candidates for the rank of Professor should have a proven record of high-quality scholarship and teaching. He/She is also expected to conduct an ongoing active research agenda and participate in the service opportunities within the Faculty and the University.
For other posts for Professor/Associate Professor levels : applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in the relevant fields and be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and research. The appointees should be able to teach the relevant subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A proven record of high-quality scholarship, teaching and services is expected. They should be able to provide academic leadership in both research and teaching, and are also expected to supervise doctoral students, conduct an ongoing active research agenda, obtain research grants, serve on committees within the University and external professional organizations. For the Assistant Professor level: applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in the relevant fields and be able to demonstrate strong potential for research excellence. The appointees should be able to teach the relevant subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They should possess good teaching and research skills. For professional areas such as Accounting and Information Systems, a professional qualification is also preferred. The appointees are also expected to commit to high-quality scholarly research, submit grant proposals, publish in top-tier academic journals and supervise doctoral students.
