How Do Export Commitment and Product Diversification Jointly Affect the International Scope-Firm Performance Relationship? |
|
| Abstract: |
| We examine the internationalization and performance relationship in our analysis of panel data on Japanese electronics enterprises from the early 1990s to 2002. By looking at the moderating effects of export activities and product diversity on the international (geographic) scope and performance relationship, we find that that the performance impact of international investment changes depending upon the extent of a firm’s export commitment as well as product diversification.
