This paper applies learning-oriented assessment research to the teacing and leanring of business writing, integrating learning theories, lesson planning, and professional communication knowledge. The formative process of assessment with the aim of learning business wriitng is elababorated together with the necessity of strategic and well-planned use of feedbadcks. A unit of Business Writing—press release writing, is used as an example for illustration of this model of lesson plannning.
